Livestock Gentec is a centre of excellence at the University of Alberta. It was established in 2010 to bring the commercial benefits of genomics to the Canadian livestock industry. Initially supported by funding from Alberta Innovates, Alberta Agriculture and Forestry, and Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada, and now increasingly by Results Driven Agriculture Research (RDAR), it has worked closely with industry partners to address their priorities for genetic improvement.
